Armaments and Defence Economics Adviser
Deputy Director of the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale, in charge of "National Activities".
The 1re Jean-Christophe Cardamone began his career in 1984 at the Direction des constructions aéronautiques / Délégation générale pour l'armement of the French Ministry of Defence.
 

He was successively Head of the Organic Matrix Composite Materials Laboratory at the Toulouse Aeronautical Test Centre (1990), then, until 1992, Group Head for Metallic Materials in the Materials Section of the Technical Service for Aeronautical Programmes (STPA), Deputy Head of the Materials Section and Deputy Communications Manager to the STPA Director from 1992 to 1995.

In 1995, he joined the office of the Delegate General for Armaments, where until 1997 he was technical adviser in charge of research, aeronautics and quality initiatives, then deputy chief of staff.

From 1997 to 1998, he trained at the Collège interarmées de défense (5e promotion).

From 1998 to 1999, he was system architect for the short- and medium-range air-to-ground missile segment in the Weapon Systems Division, Tactical Missile Programmes Department. From 1999 to 2002, he was director of the Modular Air-to-Ground Missile (AASM) and Laser-guided Air-to-Ground Missile (AS30 Laser) programmes.

From 2002 to 2006, still with the Weapon Systems Division, in the Nuclear and Missile Programmes Department, he became Director of the Strategic Sea-Sea-Ballistic Missile (SSBM) programmes.

From 2006 to 2009, he was appointed Director of DGA / EP (formerly CEPr) Centre d'essais des propulseurs de Saclay, in DGA's Test Department.

In 2009, he was appointed Director of the Missiles and UAVs Management Unit in the Operations Directorate, a position he held until 2013.

From 2014 to 2017, he was Deputy Export Manager for Africa and the Middle East in the International Development Division.

On 1 June 2017, he was appointed "Armaments and Defence Economics" adviser and deputy director of the Institut de hautes études de défense nationale (IHEDN), with responsibility for "National Activities".

IGETA1 Jean-Christophe Cardamone is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Ingénieurs des Études et Techniques de l'Armement, the École Nationale Supérieure des Constructions Aéronautiques and is a qualified pilot in the 1st and 2nd armament technical corps.e degree. He also completed a Stege in general management at the École supérieure de commerce de Paris (ESCP). Finally, he is an auditor of the 44e national session of the Centre des hautes études de l'armement (CHEAr).

IGETA1 Jean-Christophe Cardamone is an Officer of the Légion d'honneur, a Commander of the Ordre national du Mérite and an Honorary Aeronautics Medallist.
