Thursday 4 February 2021 saw the start of the 72e The Economic and Strategic Intelligence (IES) cycle is conducted entirely by videoconference.

The cycle was opened by Préfet Denis Conus, Deputy Director of the IHEDN. The opening lectures on economic intelligence and security were given by Mr Philippe CLERC (CCI France, Académie de l'Intelligence économique) and Mr François JEANNE-BEYLOT (TROOVER).

Public policy on national and territorial security was presented by both the Strategic Information and Economic Security Service (SISSE) of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance and the Ministry of the Interior (HFDS). The 12 participants in the IES course will spend 7 days (49 hours) learning about business intelligence, the use of strategic information, cybersecurity, ethics and compliance, economic security, influence strategies and the control of foreign investment in France.
They will also be working on the overall safety and security of companies.
