The Russian presence in Sub-Saharan Africa

On 2 July 2021, a new edition of Franco-Polish webinars was held on the theme of Russia's presence in sub-Saharan Africa (The Russian presence in Sub-Saharan Africa_French & Polish Perspectives), organised by the French Embassy in Poland, in partnership with the Europe and International Affairs Department of the IHEDN, the Casimir PULASKI Foundation and the Centre for French Civilisation at Warsaw University.

Following introductory speeches by Mr Nicolas MASLOWSKI, Director of the Centre for French Civilisation at the University of Warsaw, Mr Bartlomiej KOT (Casimir PULASKI Foundation), Ms Odette TOMESCU-HATTO, Deputy Director of the Europe and International Affairs Department at the IHEDN, and Ms Christina VENARD, Research Officer at the European Affairs Office of the IHEDN, the conference was opened by Mr Bartlomiej KOT (Casimir PULASKI Foundation). Odette TOMESCU-HATTO, Deputy Director of the Department of Europe and International Affairs at the IHEDN, and Christina VENARD, Research Fellow in the European Affairs Office at the IHEDN, Aleksandra SZYLKIEWICZ (Kering) and finally Anna CHERNER-DRIEUX, Director of the Department of Europe and International Affairs at the IHEDN. Emmanuel DREYFUS, "Russia" researcher at IRSEM, Jędrzej CZEREP, analyst specialising in sub-Saharan Africa at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), and Anna CHERNER-DRIEUX, Political Counsellor at the French Embassy in Poland. Polski Instytut Spraw Międzynarodowych) and Aleksander OLECH, Director of the European Security Programme at the New Europe Institute (Instytut Nowej Europy - INE). The debates were moderated by Mr Witold REPETOWICZ, associate researcher at the Casimir PULASKI Foundation.
