Africa and France face new threats

On Tuesday 5 October 2021, the 36 auditors of the 21st IHEDN Forum on the African Continent (FICA) presented the conclusions of their four respective committees dedicated to the study of governance, development, transnational threats and peacekeeping operations in Africa. The auditors were then presented with their diplomas by Lieutenant General Benoît Durieux, Director of the IHEDN, and Lieutenant General Thierry Marchand, Director of Security and Defence Cooperation, at a ceremony followed by a moment of conviviality, which brought to a close a week of conferences, committee work and field visits (headquarters of the French Red Cross and the operational base of the Unité d'Instruction et d'Intervention de la Sécurité Civile n°1 in Nogent-le-Rotrou).

The auditors represented the following countries Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Botswana, Cape Verde, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Djibouti, Kenya, Libya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritania, South Africa, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda and Zambia.

On Tuesday, October 5th 2021, the 36 attendees of the 21st IHEDN Forum on the African Continent (FICA) submitted the conclusions of the four comittees dedicated to studying governance, development, transnational threats and peacekeeping operations issues in Africa. Afterwards, the attendees received their diplomas from Lieutenant-General Benoît Durieux, director of IHEDN, and Lieutenant-General Thierry Marchand, director of cooperation of security and defense, during a ceremony followed by a cocktail. This concluded a week of conferences, comitees sessions and field visits (Operational Center of the Red Cross and the Civil security instruction and intervention unit n°1).

The attendees came from the following countries : South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Benin, Cameroon, , Cape Verde, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Djibouti, Kenya, Libya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Chad, Togo, Tunisia et Zambia.
