On Saturday 4 December, the 128th IHEDN-Jeunes cycle in the Île-de-France region (Paris) came to a close at the Cercle national des armées, after a week of intensive training on the major issues of national defence and security. The course, which began on 29 November, brought together 50 young participants aged between 20 and 30, from all sectors of activity and different training courses.

The 6 days of training included lectures and debates led by high-level speakers, covering contemporary strategic issues, knowledge of the defence system and international cooperation and conflict. Visits to industrial sites (Arquus, DGA propellant testing, Safran) and military sites (Foreign Legion recruitment group) provided the opportunity to link analysis and reflection to real-life situations in the field.

Lastly, work carried out in committees on national defence issues led to the drafting of position papers: this work was presented on Saturday in the presence of IHEDN authorities. At the end of the presentations, the diplomas were awarded by Prefect Denis ConusDeputy Director of IHEDN, Ms Mélissa LevaillantDeputy Head of the Studies and Research Department, and Mrs Hadjar AouardjiHead of Studies and Research.
