Over the course of a whole week, some fifty high-level African civilian and military participants from 40 countries (French, English and Portuguese-speaking) and one regional organisation (the African Union) took part in twelve lectures on the theme of "New Conflicts, New Partnerships". These talks addressed major issues affecting the African continent, such as security instability, food and energy insecurity, the other consequences of the conflict in Ukraine, piracy and foreign influences on the continent. The FICA was also an opportunity for listeners to share their views on these issues, notably through the work of five committees, which gave rise to presentations in the presence of General Durieux.

The 22nd session of the IHEDN forum on the African continent (FICA) ended on Saturday, June 18, 2022 with the traditional graduation ceremony in the presence of General Durieux, Director of the French Institute of Higher Defense studies (IHEDN) and General Marchand, Director for Security and Defense Cooperation (DCSD) of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

For a whole week, about fifty high-level African attendees, both civilian and military, from 40 countries (French, English and Portuguese speaking) and one regional organization (the African Union) participated in twelve conferences on the theme of "New Conflicts, New Partnerships". These interventions dealt with major issues affecting the African continent such as security instability, food and energy insecurity, other consequences of the conflict in Ukraine, piracy or foreign influences on the continent. The FICA was also an opportunity for the audience to share their vision on these topics, notably through the work of five committees which led to presentations in the presence of General Durieux.

Visits to the Eurosatory exhibition and the Senate enriched this programme. The high-level discussions held during this session makes it a perfect example of the quality of the dialogue between France, the European Union and the African continent.
