In addition to the activities common to all the majors, the auditors of the 'Maritime Issues and Strategies' major devoted most of Friday 30 September to their committee work.

Nevertheless, they were able to take advantage of two exceptional meetings with Stéphane DaguinChief of Staff to the Secretary of State for the Sea and the Environment Martin MotteDirector of Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE) and President of the Institut de Stratégie Comparée (ISC).

The first presented France's major maritime challenges to the audience, while the second analysed them through the prism of the historical fundamentals of maritime power. In both cases, the debates highlighted the inseparable link between maritime power and the notion of sovereignty, and the multiplier role of the maritime economy in the development and resilience of societies.
