European Armament Cooperation - 4 to 6 July 2023 - Ecole militaire, Paris

Today sees the start of the European Armament Cooperation course organised as part of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC). The course will take place over 3 days, from 4 to 6 July, at the Ecole Militaire - Paris. It brings together 24 mid-career students, both civilian and military, from various European Union countries and institutions.

Over the course of the 3 days, participants will have the opportunity to attend a number of conferences organised around 4 pillars: a general overview of European armaments cooperation; partnerships and cooperation: forging a common response at European level; innovation; and finally a look at European prospects in armaments.

This first day was opened by the Chief Armaments Engineer Damien LouiseThis was followed by speeches from representatives of the European Commission (DG DEFIS) and NATO, and ended with a conference on the development of cyber capabilities, a crucial area for EU security.

Today begins the European Armament Cooperation course organized in the framework of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC). This course will take place over 3 days, from July 4 to 6, and will be held in Paris at the Ecole Militaire. It gathers 24 mid-career level auditors, civilian and military, from different countries and institutions of the European Union.

During these 3 days, the attendees will have the opportunity to attend several conferences built around 4 main pillars: a general overview of European armaments cooperation; partnerships and cooperation: forging a common response at the European level; innovation; and European perspectives in terms of armaments.

The today's session has been opened by the ICA (Colonel, Armament) Damien LouiseEU specialized deputy to the International Development Director / Directorate General of Armament. Then the conferences continued with lectures from EU Commission (DG DEFIS) and NATO representatives, before ending with a panel dedicated to the cyber space, a crucial domain for EU security.
