During the Ukrainian President's visit to Paris in February 2024, France and Ukraine signed a bilateral security agreement. Concluded for a period of 10 years and valid until Ukraine joins NATO, the agreement provides for "comprehensive assistance" from Paris to Kiev, "active deterrence [...] against any new aggression from the Russian Federation", and "support for Ukraine's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions".
