The economy is as effective a field of confrontation as military action. It is a vector of power and enables the deployment of strong constraints that can weaken strategic sectors, destabilise states and undermine their sovereignty. Companies and governments alike have to contend with increasing risks and multiple threats: economic coercion, extraterritorial laws, predation, data and intellectual property piracy, cyber attacks, critical dependencies, including digital ones, which undermine their economic interests.<\/p>

Protecting and promoting France's strategic interests is a key challenge in a context marked by :<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> tougher competitive practices and the rise of economic nationalism ;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> the proliferation of extraterritorial laws, tools of economic coercion, lawfare practices and the impact of regulations;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> the proliferation of attacks on economic security: computer attacks, physical attacks, damage to reputation, patent theft, espionage, etc;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> the need to strengthen the autonomy and resilience of value chains in key sectors;<\/p>

-<\/strong><\/span> the need for massive investment in the disruptive technologies that will shape the dominance of the future.<\/p>

All these risks and new threats mean that we need to step up the coordination of resources and the mobilisation of the skills required to implement them, as well as cooperating and developing our national and European economic security policies.<\/p>

As part of a forward-looking approach, it will contribute to the development and improvement of auditors' skills, which will be useful in carrying out their responsibilities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The 'Economic Defence and Security' major is a top-quality course that draws on the expertise of some of the best practitioners and experts in their field. Students will be able to :<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> promote a genuine culture of economic security ;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> develop strategic and forward-looking thinking on the economic security tools and policies to be implemented at national and European level;<\/p>

-<\/span> <\/strong>Understand the challenges of strategic autonomy and economic resilience, by examining France's ability to meet its vital needs;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> acquire a global vision of the major economic security issues and their implications in terms of sovereignty ;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> understanding the driving forces behind and prospects for economic security policies ;<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> analyse the diversity of interference and destabilisation risks facing organisations today and understand the legal components of economic coercion.<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> identify the institutional structures and practices relating to economic intelligence in France and at European level.<\/p>

-<\/span><\/strong> explore the main issues raised by the challenges of economic security: are the new technological frontiers the new horizon for French and European economic sovereignty? To what extent does strategic autonomy now imply economic security? How can we ensure digital sovereignty at a time of major US-China oligopolies?
