Institute for Advanced Studies in National Defence<\/strong><\/p>

The Institut des hautes \u00e9tudes de d\u00e9fense nationale (IHEDN) is a national public administrative body under the supervision of the Prime Minister and, more specifically, of the Secr\u00e9tariat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral \u00e0 la d\u00e9fense et \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 nationale (SGDSN).<\/p>

The Institut des hautes \u00e9tudes de d\u00e9fense nationale (IHEDN) prepares leaders from all spheres of activity to assume the highest responsibilities by developing their understanding of national defence and security issues, their knowledge of related public policies, their perception of the interplay of players involved in their implementation, and their aptitude for strategic thinking. The training provided as part of the national session is designed to enable all students to grasp from the outset the cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary, interministerial, European and international dimensions of defence and security issues through a common foundation and in-depth study of 5 major areas (Armament and the Defence Economy, Economic Defence and Security, Maritime Issues and Strategies, Defence Policy, Digital Sovereignty and Cybersecurity).<\/p><\/div>

The IHEDN, working to build and disseminate a common defence culture, helps to forge lasting links between senior public and private, civilian and military officials.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Department of Studies and Research<\/strong><\/p>

The Department of Studies and Research (DER) is responsible for ensuring the scientific and educational quality, as well as regulatory compliance, of all training programmes delivered at IHEDN. It conducts research in fields of interest to the Institute. Through its work, it stimulates participants\u2019 thinking and supports them throughout their training programme by providing methodological guidance. It contributes to the internal and external dissemination of academic output relevant to the Institute\u2019s areas of activity, audiences and partners. It defines the priorities for support in research and foresight. It develops links with higher education and research organisations. The DER determines the content of conferences and round-table discussions, as well as cooperation with partner institutes in France and abroad.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
