SEMINARS BILATERALS
The Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN) regularly receives delegations from counterpart organisations, made up of academics and researchers as well as trainee officers from military training establishments.
These bilateral seminars provide an opportunity for strategic reflection on cooperation in defence and diplomacy, and help to raise the profile of French security and defence policies. The aim is also to share information, provide mutual inspiration and contribute to better institutional and even operational cooperation, depending on the follow-up to these exchanges. The IHEDN has memorandum of understanding with Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea and maintains regular cooperation with Germany, Poland and Belgium. Recent topics discussed with IHEDN's Asian partners have included France's strategy for the Indo-Pacific, the consequences of the war in Ukraine for the Indo-Pacific and the nuclear threat.
