International Session for the Balkans and Eastern Europe (SIBEO)
Created in 2020, the first edition of this session was held under the name of International Session on the Middle East in 2021. This session brings together some forty high-level auditors from countries in the Middle East and North Africa when the session is held in the ANMO (North Africa & Middle East) format. Each invited country is represented by a military or civilian auditor from the army, internal security forces, research or diplomacy.
This session provides an opportunity to explain French policy towards the countries of this region and to encourage participants to reflect on ways of cooperating in order to respond jointly to the interests and challenges specific to the region. This session is held on an ad hoc basis.
Objectives
- To promote and popularise France's approach to defence, security and international relations in the region
- To enable exchanges on future prospects linked to contemporary issues in the area
- To share French operational know-how with a view to developing future defence and security cooperation agreements.
- Promoting the emergence and consolidation of a privileged cooperation network as part of an active diplomatic approach to key players in the region
Target audience
Senior civil and military officials, representatives of civil society and local organisations: politicians, diplomats, military personnel, entrepreneurs, directors of research institutes, etc.

Prerequisites :
- Level of responsibility
- Professional experience relevant to the issues addressed.
Educational triptych
- Conferences, debates and round tables
- Visits to military or civil-military bases (civil security, etc.) and industrial sites
- Thematic committee work: The aim is to produce a simplified written report, presented orally by the participants at the end of the session.
