Sir Lawrence Freedman is Emeritus Professor of War Studies at King's College London and has held senior positions at the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). He was official historian of the Falklands War and a member of the Chilcoat Commission which investigated British involvement in the Iraq war.
