The annual seminar of IHEDN associations was held on 29 November 2021 at the École Militaire (Lacoste amphitheatre), bringing together representatives of 41 member associations of Union-IHEDN.
Lieutenant General Benoît Durieux opened the proceedings. This was followed by presentations and speeches by members of the IHEDN steering committee, and discussions with the presidents of the associations.
Philippe Vial, lecturer in contemporary history at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, co-author of the book "Histoire de l'IHEDN- Penser la défense" (History of the IHEDN - Thinking about defence) then spoke.
In the afternoon, three workshops brought participants together to discuss the following topics:
- Communication and outreach (rapporteur: Valérie Duval),
- Preparing regional sessions (rapporteur: Norbert Laurençon)
- After the IHEDN (rapporteur: Michel Foudriat, assisted by Marie-Claire Plaud).
At the end of the day, the rapporteurs reported on the work of their workshops, before a conclusion from the authorities.
