Saturday 10 July saw the close of the 126e cycle IHEDN jeunes en Occitanie, at the Palais Niel, Toulouse, headquarters of the 11e parachute brigade. The course, opened on 5 July by sub-prefect Jean-Michel Delvert, head of the regional and specialised activities department at IHEDN, was attended by 75 young working people and students with a shared interest in defence, national security and international relations.
Throughout the week, participants benefited from IHEDN's threefold programme of high-level lectures, group committee work and visits. The applicable health rules meant that they were welcomed at industrial sites (Airbus Defence and Space, CNES, DGA Techniques Aéronautiques and Thales Alenia Space) as well as by military formations (1er Parachute Train Regiment and 17e Régiment du Génie Parachutiste).
This particularly fast-paced week ended with the presentation of the position papers at a ceremony presided over by Professor Olivier Schmitt, head of the IHEDN studies and research department, in the presence of Colonel Gastine, deputy colonel of the 11th Parachute Brigade, Isabelle Ferrer, deputy mayor of Toulouse with responsibility for employment, and Marc Sztulman, regional councillor for the Occitanie region.
