In this book, Mathilde Philipe-Gay, a university professor of public law, describes the ongoing battle to bring to justice those responsible for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. She argues that by letting dictators get away with it, the credibility, effectiveness and legitimacy of the international legal system are destroyed. Not to punish this new aggression is to pave the way for tomorrow's global conflicts; to accept that there will then be no legal recourse is to give in to the "law of war".
