A seminar devoted to the contemporary dynamics of the African continent brought together experts and decision-makers with a common objective: to rethink the relationship between France and Africa in the light of current challenges.

On 25 February, IHEDN organised the Africa on the Move seminar in partnership with the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCE), under the sponsorship of the French Council of Investors in Africa (Cian).

This day of reflection was devoted to a central and highly topical question: what levers can be mobilised to consolidate and develop a relationship between France and Africa based on shared interests?

Structured around four round tables, the seminar addressed the major issues that are redefining the Franco-African balance today:

  • the challenges of information and disinformation,
  • security cooperation,
  • cultural, sporting and artistic activities,
  • the place and vision of French companies on the continent.

By bringing together institutional, diplomatic, military, economic and social players, this event provided a genuine forum for dialogue. The discussions enabled concrete proposals to emerge in the face of the changes taking place, both in Africa and internationally.

This seminar fully illustrates the ambition of the partnership between IHEDN and the French Foreign Trade Advisors: to strengthen synergies between public and private players in order to provide coherent, plural and coordinated responses to complex issues.
