Opened by Lieutenant General Benoît Durieux, Director of the IHEDN, the event aims to address security and defence issues that are crucial for both the UK and France. Ambassador Marc Abensour, ambassador in charge of the Indo-Pacific, and Captain Guillaume Arnoux, from the French Ministry of Defence's Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy (DGRIS), will present France's strategy in the Indo-Pacific. Marie Dumoulin, head of the 'Wider Europe' programme at theEuropean Council for Foreign Relations and Major General Éric Peltier, General Officer in charge of international military relations, will take stock of the war in Ukraine, one year after the start of the conflict. These two lectures will be followed by discussions between the various speakers and the young diplomats in training. The afternoon will then be devoted to a visit to the MBDA company, a symbol of success in terms of capability cooperation in Europe.

This event is part of the special defence relations between our two countries.
