The Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale offers short 14-hour courses on specific subjects relating to economic intelligence (EI). Structured in two phases, theoretical and practical, these courses raise participants' awareness of key concepts and enable them to apply them through case studies. Thanks to IHEDN's interministerial status, these cycles benefit from the expertise of various ministerial departments, offering an enriched perspective on the issues addressed. We offer you

The aim of this cycle is to provide an in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity issues and challenges facing businesses, particularly VSEs/SMEs and SMEs. 

Course objectives and content :

  • Gain a better understanding of the cybersecurity challenges facing an organisation (current cybersecurity challenges, identification of vulnerabilities specific to organisations, development of protection strategies to guarantee the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data).
  • Strengthen the information systems security policy and create a security culture within the organisation (implement and maintain effective information systems security (ISS) policies).
  • Helping to identify threats linked to the use of computers and Internet networks (malwarephishing attacks, ransomware and other forms of cybercrime).
  • Drafting of technical and legal precautions to deal with attacks (creation of incident response plans, establishment of data backup and recovery protocols, understanding of legal and regulatory obligations in terms of cybersecurity).

Following the «flash» mission on the financing of the defence industrial and technological base (BITD) entrusted by the National Defence and Armed Forces Committee to Ms Françoise Ballet-Blu and Mr Jean-Louis Thiériot, the «Finance and Defence» training course, organised by IHEDN in partnership with the FBF, GICAT and the DGA Investors' Club, aims to promote constructive dialogue and mutual understanding between the worlds of finance and defence, drawing on various sessions dedicated to the regulatory and institutional context that structures these strategic interactions.

We offer you

Objectives and content:

  • Gain an understanding of recent developments in the international context and their effects on the defence industry (geopolitical analysis, technological advances, security policies, etc.).
  • Gain a better understanding of the legislative and administrative framework governing the export defence industry (understanding national and international regulations, export procedures, compliance requirements that apply to defence companies when operating on foreign markets, etc.).
  • Improve knowledge of the defence sector and its key issues (market dynamics, supply chains, strategic partnerships, challenges and opportunities specific to the defence industry, etc.).
  • Encourage greater mutual understanding between the two sectors - banking and insurance, and defence industries - in order to facilitate and improve the financing of this industry.

Training programme:

The «Finance and Defence» training course is part of the transition to a war economy, which involves closer ties between players in the finance and defence sectors.

 

The training programme will be structured as follows:

  • Morning – Specialised sequences

Participants are divided into two groups.
The «Defence» sequence aims to discover and understand the existing banking and financial tools and mechanisms for financing the BITD.
The «Finance» section provides an understanding of the strategic role of the BITD in the national economy, explains compliance requirements, and explains the control of exports of military equipment.

  • Afternoon – Pooling

Participants gather for presentations and discussions to share insights and build a common, comprehensive and operational vision of the interactions between the defence and finance sectors.
