Strategic perspectives in Eurasia: confrontation and cooperation

On Tuesday 12 January 2021, the first "Eurasia" webinar was held in virtual format at the École Militaire. It was organised by the IHEDN and France's foreign trade advisers (CNCCEF), with the support of MEDEF International.

This public-private dialogue brought together some 250 employees, business leaders, researchers and institutional players for a day of conferences and debates on the theme: "Strategic perspectives in Eurasia: confrontations and cooperation".

After opening remarks by Ambassador Corinne Breuzé, the Institute's Director of International and European Affairs, and the President of the French Foreign Trade Advisors, Alain Bentéjeac, a number of speakers described the Eurasian region and its characteristics.

Among the speakers, French Ambassador Sylvie Bermann, former Ambassador to China, Russia and the United Kingdom, currently Chair of the IHEDN Board, and French Ambassador Pierre Vimont, former Ambassador to the United States, currently the French President's Special Envoy for the Security and Confidence Building Architecture with Russia, respectively opened and concluded the webinar.
