The limits of weaponised interdependence after the Russian war against Ukraine

Economic interdependence may have led some to believe that, in order to preserve its economy, Russia would not invade Ukraine. However, Russia had been preparing for partial economic independence from the West for several years prior to this conflict. This desire for economic independence is shared by China and other emerging countries. This article looks at these changes and their future implications.
