From 22 to 27 February 2021, Rouen hosted the 123e IHEDN-Jeunes cycle, during which some sixty young people from all walks of life and aged between 20 and 30 met to learn about and exchange views on defence and national security issues.
To achieve this, they benefited from the triptych of teaching methods typical of IHEDN courses, which combine lectures, committee work and visits.
The visits to the Medical Training Centre in Rouen, Cordon DS2i and Base Aérienne 105 in Evreux were particularly memorable, giving them a more concrete understanding of the various challenges that these strategic sites can face.
During the closing ceremony at the end of the cycle, they had the opportunity to present the results of their reflections to Ms Marine Caron, Vice-President of the Departmental Council, and Professor Olivier Schmitt, Director of the IHEDN Studies and Research Department.
It was an emotional ceremony, opened by Bertrand Bellanger, President of the Seine-Maritime Departmental Council, whose presence and speech left a lasting impression on our listeners.
