On Wednesday 22 September 2021, the 5e session of the Ambassadors Briefing in 2021, organised by the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Benoit DURIEUXDirector of the Institute, and the Ambassador Sylvain BERGERDiplomatic Adviser and Director of the Department of Europe and International Affairs, welcomed the Ambassador Olivier POIVRE d'ARVORAmbassador for the Poles and maritime issues, by videoconference.

Some sixty foreign ambassadors and representatives in Paris attended the session. The briefing gave rise to an exchange between the foreign representatives and the ambassador for the poles and maritime issues. This event provided an opportunity for diplomats and foreign representatives living in France to gain a better understanding of the French position on the issues of protecting biodiversity, the political response to global warming, and the changing geostrategic role of the oceans and maritime resources.
