On Friday 17 September 2021, the 5th International Session on Armaments and Defence Economics for Latin America (SIAMLAT) came to a close at the École Militaire.
The event brought together twelve senior military and institutional officials from Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Suriname, Honduras, Guyana, Peru and Mexico. Ambassador Sylvain Berger, Director of the IHEDN's Europe and International Affairs Department, and IGA Thomas Lorne (DGA) presented the diplomas at a ceremony held in the Salon des Maréchaux.
The week was packed with conferences and visits to military and industrial sites (both in Paris and Toulon), giving participants an insight into part of France's Defence Technological and Industrial Base (DTIB). The session also provided an opportunity to strengthen ties between France and the countries represented.
The 5th edition of the International Session "Armament and Defence Economics" for Latin America (SIAMLAT) ended at the Military School on Friday, September 17th. The event brought together twelve senior military and civilian officials from Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Suriname, Honduras, Guyana, Peru and Mexico. Ambassador Sylvain Berger, Director of European and International Affairs Department of the IHEDN, and Engineer General Thomas Lorne (DGA) handed out the diplomas during a graduation ceremony at the Salons des Maréchaux. The week spent in France represented an occasion to attend a series of high-level conferences and to visit several military and industrial sites in Paris and in Toulon ; it gave the opportunity to the attendees to discover the French Defence Technological and Industrial Base (DTIB). This session was also an opportunity to strengthen the links between France and the Latin America countries.
