An international conference on "The Future of Security Cooperation in the Sahel" was co-organised by the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies (GCMC), the Institut des recherches stratégiques de l'École militaire (IRSEM) and the Institut des Hautes études de défense nationale (IHEDN) at the École Militaire in Paris, France. The conference brought together some fifty officers, civil servants and experts in the field from a wide range of nations to examine the prospects for security cooperation in the Sahel. Participants came from the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Niger, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and the United States.

An international conference on the "Future of security cooperation in the Sahel" has been co-organized by the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC), the Institute for Strategic Research at the Military School (IRSEM), the Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defense (IHEDN) at the Ecole Militaire in Paris, France, from 11 to 13 July 2022. The conference brought together around 50 officers, officials, and subject matter experts from a wide range of nations to consider the way forward for security cooperation in the Sahel. Invitees included participants coming from the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Niger, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and the United States.
