Over the last few days, the 38 students in the 78th IES cycle have been able to enhance their knowledge of economic intelligence, and therefore of the ability of a State, organisation or company to protect its strategic assets, particularly in terms of digital and industrial sovereignty.

During the 78e In the economic and strategic intelligence (IES) cycle, participants deepened their knowledge of intelligence tools and the national economic security system set up by the SISSE (Service de l'information stratégique et de la sécurité économique). They also worked on the standards and economic counter-intelligence measures put in place by the General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI). The diversity of speakers provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the SEI and the issues it covers. They produced a position paper on French and European sovereignty in the strategic nuclear and grain sectors.

To meet these challenges, every year the IHEDN trains executives from the private and public sectors, enabling them to acquire the necessary knowledge, both theoretical and practical, to better grasp and understand these issues.

The IHEDN's economic and strategic intelligence (IES) cycles enable students to acquire tools and strategies for gathering, analysing, protecting and disseminating information, as well as strategies for influence, compliance and economic diplomacy.

The IES cycles are organised over 7 days, comprising 49 hours of training on the 5 main themes of EI: gathering and protecting information; intelligence and knowledge management; economic security and cybersecurity; compliance and the international business context.

The next IES cycle will take place from 31 January to 8 February 2023.
