80 young people between the ages of 20 and 30, students and young professionals, all passionate about security and defence issues, met in Nantes on 4 July 2022 to follow the 131e cycle IHEDN-jeunes.
For 6 days, they will benefit from high-level conferences on strategic issues, conflicts, international cooperation and defence. Divided into 6 committees, they are also required to work on 3 different themes to produce, by the end of the week, a position paper that they will present orally on the closing day of the cycle on Saturday 9 July.
On the opening day, the Lieutenant General Benoît DurieuxDirector of the IHEDN, addressed the audience. After presenting the IHEDN's missions and the 4 circles of the institute's field of analysis and therefore of the youth cycle (military defence, national defence, national security, international security), he congratulated the young auditors on their commitment.
After a first day of conferences, the auditors were received at the 3rd Marine Infantry Regiment in Vannes. Following a presentation of the "Grand 3" by its commanding officer, Colonel François-Emmanuel FaivreThe young people were taken in hand by the regiment's marsouins and discovered the Griffon and the Sittal simulator.
This particularly rich day will remain the highlight of the 131e cycle jeunes de l'IHEDN.
