Japan on the way to becoming a major military power in the Indo-Pacific

This article looks at the evolution of Japan's defence and security posture. Drawing on the National Security Strategy and the National Defence Strategy published in December 2022, the author highlights the rise of Japan's defence posture and Tokyo's quest for a more assertive strategic posture at both regional and international level.
