Ramping Up: What Will It Take to Boost the UK's Magazine Depth

The issue of "high intensity" or major engagement, as we see it in action in Ukraine, is putting the spotlight back on logistical issues that have long been hidden. These include ammunition consumption. In Ukraine, the Russian armed forces fire 12,000 to 20,000 rounds a day, while the Ukrainians respond with 5,000 to 6,000 rounds. These ratios deplete stocks and raise questions about the ability to renew them. The author of this article stresses the need for a truly multidimensional approach coordinated by the State.
