13 November: Dimitri Minic, Russian strategic thought and culture, From bypassing armed struggle to war in Ukraine
Since the collapse of the USSR, post-Soviet Russian strategic thinking has undergone profound change. Based on an examination of Russian military literature, doctrinal documents and speeches by Russian military and political officials, this history and strategy book analyses the concepts, notions and debates through which Russian military theorists have attempted to understand the characteristics of a modern war that is less and less centred on armed struggle.
A researcher at the French Institute of International Relations (Ifri), Dimitri Minic holds a doctorate in the history of international relations from Sorbonne University. He has also worked as a consultant for the DGRIS, where he produced reports on energy issues in Eurasia and North America, and was awarded the Albert Thibaudet prize for his book Russian strategic thinking and culture.
