After noting the decline of the nation-state model in La Fin de la Démocratie (1993), and providing us with information on the relationship between the market economy and democracy in L'Avenir de la Liberté (1999), Jean-Marie Guéhenno has produced a geopolitical essay that looks back at our 'societal crises' and gives pride of place to the study of the impact of 'data' on our world views.
