IHEDN organised five sessions over a period of ten months, including one in French Polynesia, totalling 23 weeks of intensive training, each lasting four days. From September 2023 to June 2024, 238 auditors, including 58 women and 180 men, took part in these sessions. They included 49 military personnel and 189 civilians, 120 from the civil service and 69 from the private sector.
Some of the highlights included visits to Ile Longue and its naval air station; the Lyon tunnel construction site in Turin and the wind tunnels at the Office national d'études et de recherches aérospatiales (ONERA) in Chambéry; the Council of Europe ; the fishing port of Papeete; the Pacific experimentation centre (Moruroa); KNDS in Bourges; the national space telecommunications and radio implementation centre in Chartres; the French aerospace company Latitude based in Reims.
The regional sessions are a unique opportunity to fuel and enrich debate throughout the Republic. One of the reasons for the nation's existence is the spirit of defence. And the heart of the nation also beats in the regions.
