On Thursday 10 November, the AED, POLDEF and DSE majors in the 2e session of the IHEDN came to Évreux Air Base 105, Commandant VIOT, for a presentation of the Air Force and Space missions and capabilities.
The presentation of the Commandant VIOT air base by its commander, Colonel Solène Le FLOCH, was followed by a speech by the Chief of the Air Staff, General Stéphane MILLE, who recalled the history of the creation of the French Air Force, then its recent evolution with the integration of the Space Command, to give birth to the "Air and Space Force".
The operational capabilities of the Air Force and the Space Agency, capable of ensuring a commitment "at any time, in any place", have been illustrated by recent commitments (operations Hamilton, Apagan, Barkhane).
A static presentation of the different components of the French Air Force and the French Space Agency gave the audience the opportunity to talk with many airmen, mechanics and Air Force and Space Agency personnel who are passionate about their work and keen to pass on their passion.
Finally, a dynamic display of different operational capabilities, based on a variety of engagement scenarios, rounded off this magnificent day, to the great satisfaction of the audience.
