On Wednesday 10 November, a delegation from the IHEDN ("Defence Policy" and "Armaments and Defence Economics" majors) was welcomed to Evreux Air Base 105, commanded by Colonel Solène Le Floch for a presentation of the capabilities of the French Air Force and the French Space Agency.
Le General Stéphane MilleThe Chief of Staff of the AAE opened the day's proceedings with a reminder of the AAE's projection capabilities on national territory, using the example of Operation Heifara, carried out in French Polynesia.
He also reiterated the need to strengthen international cooperation over the coming years.
This was followed by a dynamic demonstration of the capabilities of the Air and Space Force in two scenarios:
the interception of a hostile aircraft over national territory, followed by the extraction of nationals in an emergency situation.
The IHEDN auditors had the chance to take part in this last scenario by acting as nationals. They boarded an A 400 M Atlas, bound for the Vélizy-Villacoublay air base.
It was a fitting end to a day rich in discoveries and exchanges.
