BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEMINAR FOR THE NEW NATIONAL SESSION: SNC AND DSE MAJORS IN GRENOBLE

Following a joint seminar at the École Militaire for students from the five majors in the new national session, where they were presented with the major strategies of France, Europe, Russia and China, the 'Digital Sovereignty and Cybersecurity' (SNC) and 'Defence and Economic Security' (DSE) majors shared their back-to-school seminar in Grenoble, from 16 to 18 September 2021.

On Friday 17 September, the auditors of the two majors were welcomed to CEA-Leti by its Director, Mr... Sébastien DAUVÉand its Deputy Director, Mr. Jean-René LEQUEPEYSThey were able to take advantage of presentations on microelectronics, 5G, artificial intelligence, defence and cybersecurity.

The 45 students in the Digital Sovereignty and Cybersecurity major then attended a lecture by Théodore CHRISTAKIS on the major issues in digital regulation.

The 33 auditors from the Defence and Economic Security major were received at the STMicroelectronics site in Crolles, a Franco-Italian manufacturer of semi-conductors, by its Director, M. Éric GERONDEAU.

To round off this studious day, the auditors of the two majors were welcomed to the Préfecture de l'Isère by the Minister of Finance. Prefect Laurent PREVOSTto attend two round-table discussions, followed by a cocktail reception.

  • The first round-table discussion, on the theme of "Digital technology, economic security and territories", was chaired by General (2s) Marc WATIN-AUGOUARD, with contributions from M. Serge MAGINOT (Tiempo Secure), Jérôme SCHWARTZMANN (Soitec), Matthieu DELAPLACE (ANSSI).
  • M. Cyril BRAS (Head of Cybersecurity at Grenoble-Alpes Métropole, and Vice-President of the National Institute for Cybersecurity and Territorial Resilience (INCRT)) also spoke on the subject of cybersecurity for local authorities.
  • The second round table, "Perspectives on economic security", was chaired by the IGA (er) Jacques ROUJANSKYwith contributions from Alix MADET (Regional delegate for strategic information and economic security) and M. Jean VAYLET (Chairman of the Grenoble Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
Laurent PREVOST, Préfet de l'Isère - accompanied by the speakers at the first round table, chaired by General (2s) Marc WATIN-AUGOUARD, head of the SNC major - opened the two round tables for the SNC and DSE majors.

The following morning, students from the two majors met up for sporting activities at La Bastille, with via ferrata and giant zip lines on the programme. These activities helped everyone to excel, as well as creating a spirit of cohesion within each of the majors, a spirit that will stay with the students throughout the year.  

All the IHEDN teams and the auditors of the SNC and DSE majors would like to extend their warmest thanks to CEA-Leti, STMicroelectronics, the Isère Prefecture and the Acrobastille site, which made it possible for this Grenoble session to take place under the best possible conditions.
