The French resistance networks were major players in the final victory against Nazi and Fascist oppression. Their secrets and the identities of their agents have until now been preserved in recently opened archives in France and abroad. Guillaume Pollack draws up the first summary of a general review of these documents, which reveal a previously unseen aspect of the history of the Resistance in France: a transnational Resistance, in which nationals of countries that had fallen under Nazi, Vichy and Fascist rule were active, built in defiance of state borders and demarcation lines.
