For the author, the Hamas attacks of 7 October marked a double failure. That of Hamas, which has brought nothing but ruin to the people of Gaza and a radicalisation of the Israelis. The Israeli policy of "containment" towards the Palestinians has also failed. The one-state solution is seen as a radical solution that condemns both sides to a cycle of violence. The author tries to find a path to peace, a difficult path. The aim is to create a political horizon for the Palestinians and not just a religious one. The ultimate goal is to ensure the independence of Israel and the Palestinians and to alleviate the sources of fear and conflict. The author recognises that this is not possible in the very short term but hopes, in the long term, to find a way out of the crisis.
