A delegation from the committee visited Warsaw on 18 and 19 December and then Kiev on 20 and 21 December 2023, and this report sets out the consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine in 2022. It highlights the economic rupture between Russia and Europe, putting an end to direct economic and energy exchanges. The sanctions adopted have considerably reduced trade and investment. Recommendations include reducing energy dependence on Russia and promoting greater understanding of the issues at stake in the conflict among the French. The second section looks at the complexity of Ukraine's path towards the European Union. Finally, the current situation of the conflict in Ukraine and the need to step up Western aid, particularly in terms of armaments, are discussed.
