Auditors had the opportunity to attend lectures on subjects such as Franco-German customs cooperation, the geopolitics of China, as well as intelligence, information warfare, the Middle East and the future of transatlantic relations. These presentations, given by seasoned experts in their respective fields, enabled listeners to grasp the many facets of contemporary security challenges.
An in-depth visit to the autonomous port of Strasbourg gave them an insight into the crucial issues of river freight transport and cross-border cooperation along the Rhine. Other visits, notably to the Council of Europe and the SOFRAME site, an expert in the production of armoured vehicles, enriched the session's programme with concrete experiences in the field.
At the end of this regional session, the five committees presented their reports and operational proposals. The formal reception at the regional prefecture, chaired by regional prefect Josiane Chevalier, highlighted the importance of the training and commitment of the 43 auditors. Finally, the certificates conferring the status of auditor were presented by Lieutenant General Benoît Durieux, Director of the IHEDN, in the presence of Lieutenant General Yann Gravêthe, Military Governor of Metz and General Officer of the Est defence and security zone.
