The session kicked off at the Puy-de-Dôme prefecture, with speeches by sub-prefect Jean-Paul Vicat and Vincent Pech de Laclause, deputy general for the South-East defence and security zone.
The first week was divided into three parts:
- Enriching conferences: a panorama of the contemporary world was offered to listeners, enabling them to familiarise themselves with the challenges of defence and national security. The defence budget and the new military programming law were presented by Colonel Julien Reug. The 50 listeners were able to grasp France's main strategic challenges.
- General Jean-André Casanova's presentation of the French Army and Colonel Alexandre Pellissier de Feligonde, Chief of Staff of the 4th Air Combat Brigade, gave listeners an insight into the military world and those involved.
- Dynamic demonstrations: the session visited the Puy-de-Dôme departmental gendarmerie and took part in several discovery workshops. They also attended an urban combat demonstration with the 92nd infantry regiment, and took a tour of the aeronautical industry workshops.
Next up: listeners will be in Saint-Étienne for the second week, followed by Chambéry and Lyon.
