Pau welcomes the 240e session in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region
From 19 to 22 November, Pau hosted the second week of training for the 240th session in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The participants plunged into the heart of the French defence system, with an approach combining theory and practice. Committee work provided an in-depth look at the strategic issues at stake, offering real-life situations.
Opening the 240e session in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region
The 240ᵉ regional session of the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale opened at Agen town hall, under the banner of strategic thinking and sovereignty. For four weeks, 51 students from a wide range of backgrounds will be exploring the major issues in defence, security and national resilience, through a programme combining visits to strategic sites, high-level conferences and group work. The course will culminate in a presentation of their work on 13 December in Bordeaux.

From 8 to 16 October 2024, the École académique de formation continue de Bordeaux will be welcoming students from the 85e training leading to a certificate in Economic and Strategic Intelligence (IES).
A look back at the start of the new school year for the 4e IHEDN national session
The 290 students in this new intake met for the first time at the École Militaire on 17 and 18 September. On the menu: presentation of the teams, teaching methods and lectures by senior authorities, before their departure for their first immersion in the armed forces.
