Study mission to Djibouti for the national session
From 10 to 14 January, auditors from the 'Defence Policy' and 'Maritime Issues and Strategies' majors travelled to Djibouti for a trip packed with experiences, meetings and visits: demonstrations by French forces on the ground, lectures by Djiboutian and French officials, visits to foreign bases and industrial sites, and even a night in a bivouac.

The 241st regional session of the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale opened at the Sarthe prefecture. On Friday 6 December 2024, the Pointe de Pen-Hir in Camaret-sur-Mer hosted an emotional ceremony in tribute to Yves Le Hénaff and Léon Gauthier, emblematic figures of the Free French Forces. Students from the IHEDN's "Maritime Issues and Strategies" major, accompanied by local elected representatives, honoured their memory as part of this commemoration under the "Mission Libération" label, marking the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.
Pau welcomes the 240e session in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region
From 19 to 22 November, Pau hosted the second week of training for the 240th session in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The participants plunged into the heart of the French defence system, with an approach combining theory and practice. Committee work provided an in-depth look at the strategic issues at stake, offering real-life situations.

The 240ᵉ regional session of the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale opened at Agen town hall, under the banner of strategic thinking and sovereignty. For four weeks, 51 students from a wide range of backgrounds will be exploring the major issues in defence, security and national resilience, through a programme combining visits to strategic sites, high-level conferences and group work. The course will culminate in a presentation of their work on 13 December in Bordeaux.
