Joint training seminar for British and French diplomats
On Tuesday 7 February 2023, the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale (IHEDN), in partnership with the Institut diplomatique consulaire (IDC) of the École pratique des métiers de la diplomatie (EDI), is organising a module of the joint training seminar for British and French diplomats.
After a day in Paris on the new challenges, the students in the "Maritime Challenges and Strategies" major at the IHEDN national session set sail for the Mediterranean to explore the implications for the blue economy.
After the opening of the 4th strategy module on the new challenges in the Foch amphitheatre of the École militaire by Lieutenant General Benoît Durieux, Director of the IHEDN, the listeners were plunged into the fight against information and debated with three high-level personalities involved in this new field of combat: General Aymeric de Bonnemaison (COMCYBER), Gabriel FERRIOL (VIGINUM) and Charles THEPAUT (MEAE). The audience was thus able to appreciate the major challenge of combating constantly evolving threats while respecting the individual freedom that is consubstantial with our democracy.

2e parliamentary assistant cycle
From 10 to 12 January, the IHEDN organised the 2e cycle for parliamentary assistants. The course, which was opened by Prefect Denis Conus, Deputy Director of the IHEDN, enabled 36 parliamentary assistants to gain a comprehensive understanding of defence and security issues and challenges in relation to current affairs.
Advanced e-diplomacy course

Organised jointly by the IHEDN's Europe and International Affairs Department and the Instituto da Defesa Nacional (IDN Portugal), as part of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), the course entitled " Advanced course on Cyber Diplomacy "began today in Brussels.

Breton seminar for the "Maritime issues and strategies" major
Heading for the Ponant on Friday 9 December for a two-day seminar in Brest and Lorient for the "Maritime Issues and Strategies" major of the IHEDN national session. The seminar focused on the major geostrategic and geopolitical challenges facing the Atlantic Ocean, France's deterrence policy and the resources available to the French Navy to meet these challenges.

La 220e session in the New Caledonia region and the 125e cycle jeunes Nouvelle-Calédonie organised by IHEDN, ended on 9 December 2022 at the Communauté du Pacifique (CPS) in Nouméa.
